03-Nov-2008 RMK This directory contains version 2 of the GBM DRM database. It is meant to be used for routine science processing of GBM data. Note the following configuration: 1) The simulation software, mass models, and calibration parameters used to generate this database reflect current best products. a. Generated using GRESS version 1.2.0 software b. Mass model GlastFlightSC_v1_23.ggdml i. BGO -/+ X-axis locations corrected by moving 10-cm further from SC ii. Changes to SC model resulting from analysis of Source Survey - Lower density LAT radiator panels - Lower density SC body ("shear") panels - Several other smaller changes c. Energy resolution broadening version 1.02 calibration files 2) The database contains DRMs for a grid of 272 viewing directions. 3) Each DRM contains response data captured from 1.35e7 photons per incident energy starting on a sphere surrounding the central GLAST SC, excluding most of the solar panels. 4) Each DRM consists of a 64x70 matrix. The definition of 70 incident photon energies is different for NaI and BGO DRMs. The 64 measured energy bins are also different for NaI and BGO. The measured energies are binned as follows: COMPRESSED (DEFAULT FOR ALL FUTURE DRM DATABASES) wherein the measured energy bins use a compressed energy scale designed to facilitate accurate interpolation/integration. The exact compression scheme should be considered a test configuration at this point. Format follows GS-008 - NOTE: Incident energy grid differs from previous DRM database releases (more points and slightly different grid sampling) 5) The .rsp FITS file formats and naming conventions adhere to the latest revision of the GS-008 "Compressed Leaf File" standard.
